TAERIN JANG - PERMANENCE
This is a pen drawing of complex composition of animals and slightly hidden human traces like skulls and papers that people read, etc. Human life is fragile, due to illness, aging, and death. Only traces of our existence will be remained by our creations, memories, and influence. Nature like flowers, animals and fruits, also only thriving in transient life, has a similarity in this.

TAERIN JANG - MAKEUP
These are my daily cosmetics used everyday to enhance my beauty. The art reflects my commitment to self-care, but it also conveys the message that beauty cannot be my priority, as it will eventually fade and be worthless after all." The use of watercolor and pencil crayons creates a harmonious combination, making it eye-catching with vibrant colors. Beauty is fleeting: as time passes, we will no longer need any makeup tools. Youth will be no more. A day will come where beauty won't matter anymore.

NOAH OH - FRUSTRATION
Graphite, oil pastel, acrylic paint, ink, on paper. Frustration started as a graphite experimentation. As an artist, graphite was something I’ve always struggled with, so over the past summer I’ve been practicing graphite mark-making, with a focus on portraiture. As I progressed my graphite portrait, I grew frustrated as my mark-making wasn’t co-operating with me. I lost hope, and got angry at the portrait, not being satisfied with the results of my efforts. In a moment of anger, I pelted my portrait with oil pastel, in attempts to ruin it. Instead, I had made an interesting mark on the paper. My mark-making and material usage only grew from there. Ironically, the expression I ended up with adequately fit the process of which I took for this artwork.

TAERIN JANG - MORNING GLORY
This 3D piece is about eight foot and three inches tall and it required many materials. It is an artwork in the shape of a morning glory symbolizes the cycle of love. Morning glory can symbolize unyielding love that can overcome all obstacles, and unrequited love. This piece expresses my emotions and feelings of crushing on someone that continues to cycle and repeat like a loop, using morning glory as a metaphor.

NOAH OH - SANDBAGS
Muslin fabric, recycled fabric, and real sand. Inspired by the Parsons BFA Fashion show of 2017, I created a piece that has many moving parts. Sandbags are used in many places. Wars, disasters, and conflicts are all common places for them to be seen in. The human body is not one of them. Although sandbags are versatile and do their jobs well, they are extremely heavy, being full of sand to mitigate the dangers that they were built for. We as humans work hard to protect ourselves from struggle; resilience is a key factor of life. But the harder we strive to be resilient, the more it weighs down on us. The sandbags on the jacket have traditional Korean tea pouches full of sand in them, symbolizing a personal struggle to find my identity as a second generation Korean immigrant.

ELIZABETH KIM - ELEGANCE IN MOTION
Just recently in social media, my feed was exploding with edits of Porsches of all kinds. My first thoughts were that: "Wow these would look so great in an artwork". Cars in general have detailed designs and lighting that captures the person who looks at them. I wanted to represent this in an art piece.

OLIVIA LEE - DELICATE DIVERGENCE
Two twins who seem to be identical, but in reality are worlds apart. Society treats them as the same, overlooking both of their unique dreams. Both are isolated in a sea of misunderstanding, only able to rely on each other, and their bond to navigate through the loneliness. Their shared glances show the shadowed struggles, exemplifying the bittersweet reality of feeling unseen, yet being able to find comfort in their connection.

ANGELINA - REQUIEM OF THE ABYSSAL BLUE
Deep in the ocean , a figure’s shadow is cast over ruins of an ancient temple. She looks as if she is reminiscing about something, but upon closer examination, you can see the frown on her face and sadness in her eyes. It is unclear as to why she is sad, but the weeping waves and schools of fish comfort her.
