Fence Tape Art

Our Fence Tape Art Project was completed in 2018 at two elementary schools: Erma Stephenson Elementary School and Fraser Wood Elementary School. The words “Think and…” and “Inspire” were written out using Duratech Artic Flagging Tape. These installations took 3 two-hour sessions to complete over the summer and received widespread support from the local community. To make this project possible, the Art2Heart Foundation met with each elementary school’s respective Principal and worked with Mr. Westerhuis of the Public Art Advisory Council. Ultimately, these simple and accessible pieces of artwork in the community— especially close to elementary schools— can brighten one’s day and prompt younger students to take a moment and reflect on that single word.

The Art2Heart Foundation plans to expand to another elementary school or community facility to install more fence art during the summer of 2021. If you are interested in volunteering with the installation of this project or would like a word installed, please contact us.
